Print Floating

Print floating is a framing selection that is perfectly suited for the photographer or artist looking to display or sell their images. For others looking for something special and unusual, this option can create a gallery-like feel in your home. Floating a print provides a dramatic 3-D visual effect to provide an impressive, chic and ultra-modern finish to any photographic print or artwork.

Available framed or frameless, we have an endless array of options for you. For example, you could float a print above different styles of backing boards, or float a piece of work within your choice of frame.

You can choose to float your print above Dibond or aged corrugated iron. This floating method is implemented by mounting your image edge to edge of treated aluminium and then raising it above your choice of backing board by either 9mm or 19mm, depending on the depth you want to achieve. Both backing choices are designed to give a dramatic floating appearance to the picture when displayed on the wall.

Floating your image inside a frame is a completely different look. Your image is mounted edge to edge on aluminium and also lifted off the backing board by 9mm. A space is left between the edge of the print and the matboard inside the frame. There are many different matboards and frame sizes, colours and profiles to choose from. The end result is a "Floating Image" effect - a unique way to display your work.
