Whatever your shooting environment, our technology and expertise will ensure that the finest photographic detail is captured and reproduced – even in areas of deep shadows and bright highlights.

In order to achieve such high levels of detail retention, we use only the most powerful scanning technologies. All original transparencies, negatives, and reflective materials are digitised by our high-end Flextight 848 virtual drum scanner. With a reputation as the most powerful high-end CCD scanner on the market today, the Flextight 848 offers high resolution (up to 8,000dpi true optical resolution), high speed, true 16 bit colour scanning.

Of course, high quality scanning requires more than expensive technology. It also requires expertise in the most effective scanning techniques. At CFL, we use the latest, most effective scanning technique, called RAW Scanning. A RAW scan produces a digital file that preserves all available data and options. It can be re-purposed for any output including RGB, CMYK, maximum enlargement, web file, etc. In effect, a RAW scan becomes your Digital Original that will not need to be scanned ever again, no matter what you use it for.

And to ensure that this pure original colour information is never compromised, we adjust and manipulate the data using alpha channel adjustment layers. Once created, we can offer these digital print files to you as digital archives.
